Assault with a Hockey Stick Leads to Charges in Chatham-Kent
A 39‑year‑old man was taken into custody after an altercation that unfolded on the evening of May 11 in the neighbourhood of Bourdeau Place and Keil Drive South, just outside Chatham‑Kent.
The suspect approached a 37‑year‑old driver who was inside his vehicle, and after a brief exchange he brandished a hockey stick, struck the car window and threatened the occupant.
Police say the confrontation escalated into an attempted assault, prompting officers to charge the accused with uttering threats, mischief, assault with a weapon and unlawful possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
No injuries were reported, and the case is now moving through the provincial court system.
