A Schedule That Reinforces Tradition
The Atlantic 10 Conference has released its 2026‑27 women’s basketball schedule, setting up a slate of home‑and‑home matchups that promise fresh storylines for the league’s twelve‑plus programs. For Duquesne, the schedule is marked by a series of familiar confrontations, beginning with a renewed rivalry against St. Bonaventure that will stretch into its 13th straight season.
The Dukes will also host Dayton, Loyola Chicago, Richmond and VCU, each pairing designed to test the team against both longtime rivals and emerging threats. The matchup with VCU will be the third consecutive year the two schools meet twice during the regular season, underscoring a growing competitive balance.
Duquesne’s historical edge over St. Bonaventure remains pronounced; the program holds a 50‑23 record all‑time, including a 29‑6 mark at the Bluff, the university’s home court. A renewed series with Loyola Chicago will see the two programs face off twice for the first time since 1993, reviving a rivalry that once defined early Atlantic 10 contests.
Richmond will also visit the Pittsburgh campus twice, marking the first such home‑and‑home meetings since the 2021‑22 campaign. Beyond those marquee series, Duquesne will open its home floor to Davidson, Saint Joseph’s, Fordham and Rhode Island, while hitting the road for trips to Saint Louis, George Mason, George Washington and La Salle.
All fourteen member institutions will converge in Henrico, Virginia, for the 2027 Atlantic 10 Championships at the Henrico Sports & Events Center, a venue that has become a focal point for the conference’s postseason.
