Atlético Dallas announced this week that it has completed the acquisition of Dallas Trinity FC, consolidating the two clubs under a single corporate umbrella called USL Dallas LLC.
A New Era for Texas Soccer
The transaction, finalized ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, is positioned as a strategic investment in Texas soccer, aiming to broaden professional opportunities and accelerate the development of women’s soccer across the state.
While Dallas Trinity FC will continue its campaign in the Gainbridge Super League, its new parent organization has confirmed that Atlético Dallas will enter the USL Championship in 2027, with plans to host matches at the iconic Cotton Bowl.
Matt Valentine, founder and chairman of Atlético Dallas, said the deal builds on the legacy established by the Neil family, who previously owned Dallas Trinity FC. He emphasized a commitment to nurture talent and expand community outreach.
Charlie Neil, president of Dallas Trinity FC, expressed confidence that the club is in capable hands, noting that the partnership will provide greater resources and stability as the club looks toward the future.
The consolidation arrives at a pivotal moment, as North Texas prepares to stage several matches during the upcoming 2026 World Cup, a showcase that could further elevate the region’s soccer profile.
