Atticus Richmond, a 6‑foot‑9 forward with a reputation for blending size and perimeter skill, has officially committed to Kansas Men's Basketball for the 2025‑26 season, adding a new layer of depth to Bill Self’s roster.
A Versatile Addition
Coach Self highlighted Richmond’s physical presence and ability to stretch the floor, drawing a parallel to former Jayhawk Mitch Lightfoot and emphasizing the forward’s potential to impact both ends of the court.
Richmond’s high school journey began at Newman School in Boston, where he helped the program capture the NEPSAC Class AAA championship, the national prep title and the New England Basketball League crown, while averaging 9.0 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists.
He later transferred to Adlai E. Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, Illinois, a school that has produced NBA guard Jalen Brunson, before spending a post‑graduate year at the Berkshire School in Sheffield, Massachusetts.
A Crowded Freshman Class
The incoming freshman cohort includes Tyran Stokes, Taylen Kinney, Davion Adkins, Luke Barnett, Trent Perry and Grant Mordini, while the program also welcomed four transfers — Dennis Parker Jr., Christian Reeves, Keanu Dawes and Leroy Blyden Jr. — shaping a deep and competitive squad.
Self believes the mix of size, skill and experience will give Kansas a versatile lineup capable of adapting to the rigors of the Big 12 schedule, and Richmond’s arrival is seen as a key piece of that puzzle.
