The Attman family, together with the Phyllis L. and Leonard J. Attman Foundation, has announced a major financial contribution to Israel Baseball that promises to reshape the sport’s landscape across the country.
Expanding Clubs and Building Infrastructure
The funds will be directed toward expanding existing clubs, launching four new teams, and establishing Israel’s first indoor baseball facility in Tel Aviv, which will provide a weather‑proof venue for year‑round training.
In addition, experienced coaches from the United States will travel to Israel to mentor local youth coaches, equipping them with fundamental techniques and best practices.
A central element of the initiative is the inaugural U12 National Baseball Tournament & Fun Day, scheduled to take place in Tel Aviv and bring together young players from diverse communities.
Leonard Attman, a driving force behind the gift, expressed his hope that Israeli children will discover the same excitement he felt playing baseball as a youth.
Jonathan Attman, his brother, added that fostering a sense of community through sport is a core motivation for the family’s philanthropy.
Michael Steller, a regional development advocate, highlighted the importance of creating hubs that introduce children to baseball and build lasting connections.
Nate Fish, CEO of Israel Baseball Americas, praised the Attmans’ investment, noting that it will enable scholarships, equipment purchases, field rentals, and transportation support for participants.
