A Culture of Excellence
The Auburn University baseball program has once again been recognized for its academic excellence, capturing the American Baseball Coaches Association's 2025-26 Team Academic Excellence Award.
This marks the third consecutive year the Tigers have earned the honor, underscoring a sustained commitment to scholarship on the diamond.
The award, which celebrates programs coached by current ABCA members that post a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for the 2025-26 academic year, highlighted Auburn's program-record 3.30 GPA.
Overall, 18 players earned spots on the 2026 Spring SEC Academic Honor Roll, while an additional 12 freshmen secured places on the 2025-26 First-Year SEC Academic Honor Roll, reflecting depth across class lines.
Auburn joins eight other Southeastern Conference schools in receiving the distinction, a testament to the conference's growing emphasis on balancing competitive athletics with academic rigor.
Head coach Butch Thompson, now in his tenth season at the helm, has built a culture where winning on the field and thriving in the classroom go hand in hand.
The recognition not only celebrates the current roster but also sets a benchmark for future teams, illustrating how academic achievement can coexist with athletic ambition.
