Auburn University’s men’s basketball program has entered a partnership that will bring its roster into a brand‑new college basketball title from 2K Sports, slated to hit stores in February 2027.
The game, described by the developer as a ‘foundational college basketball experience,’ marks the first time in more than a decade that a dedicated college basketball entry has appeared in the NBA 2K franchise.
Reviving the college basketball presence
The announcement follows a brief teaser in February 2024, when 2K Sports rolled an ‘NBA 2K Scan Truck’ onto the Auburn campus, hinting at a collaboration that would eventually showcase the Tigers on screen.
A 45‑second clip released alongside the teaser featured head coach Steven Pearl alongside support staff Kevin Overton, Mantas Rubštavičius, and Narcisse Nogy, giving fans a first look at the people steering the project.
The roster highlighted in the announcement includes players Bukky Oboye, Caleb Williams, George Kimble III and Tahaad Pettiford, each of whom will be rendered with detailed animations and realistic attributes.
Industry observers note that the release not only expands the game’s college‑level depth but also re‑establishes a direct link between NCAA programs and the popular NBA 2K series, a connection that was last seen in NBA 2K 26’s 2024 update.
