Auburn’s initial preseason scrimmage under new head coach Alex Golesh ended with the team in a relatively healthy condition, a encouraging sign as the program moves toward fall camp.
Stanton Ramil took every offensive snap, marking his first extensive involvement in the unit since returning from injury, while Kaleb Harris, who had been limited in recent practices, completed the session fully. Bryson Washington, still shaking off spring setbacks, worked effectively with the offense and was gradually worn down as needed.
Sylvester Smith‑Reed also saw action but remained in a non‑contact protocol, making a single tackle before being reminded to stay out of further hits; coaches expect him to be cleared for the next scrimmage.
The session featured 115 plays and saw five players—Nykahi Davenport, Christian Neptune, Hunter Herring, Jonathan Echols and An’Quon Fegans—held out, though An’Quon Fegans is slated to return at full strength by Sunday.
Looking Ahead to Fall Camp
With the health picture improving and the roster gradually regaining depth, Auburn’s staff appears confident that the momentum built in the spring will translate into a competitive lineup when the regular season approaches.
