Audubon has locked in its 2026 football schedule, confirming a Week 8 road test at Lenox that will punctuate a demanding slate of matchups.
The addition comes after Exira EHK opted out of the fall season, leaving a vacancy on October 16 that the Wheelers moved quickly to fill.
Athletic Director and head coach Sean Birks weighed several possibilities, from a Week Zero exhibition to a different conference opponent, before settling on the Lenox appointment.
A Packed Calendar
Last year the team posted an 11‑1 record, advanced to the semifinals at the Dome, and fell just short against Bishop Garrigan, fueling optimism that the roster will again contend for a top ranking.
With a wealth of returning talent, analysts predict Audubon will feature prominently in the upcoming 8‑Man Pre‑Season Rankings.
The schedule also includes contests against Remsen St. Mary’s, Griswold, CAM, Fremont Mills, Glidden Ralston, Coon Rapids Bayard, and a scrimmage with Bedford on August 21, promising a rigorous early season.
Fans can expect a high‑octane atmosphere as the Wheelers travel to face each of these opponents, beginning with the August 21 scrimmage that will serve as a final tune‑up before the regular season.
