The Augusta Chronicle has unveiled its 2026 Dream 16 list, a compilation of the top sixteen high school football players from the Augusta area who have caught the eye of college recruiters and stand out on the field.
Leading the group is Turner Stevenson, a quarterback from Aquinas, whose 1,775 passing yards and 22 touchdowns illustrate a cannon arm that has impressed coaches despite missing five games due to injury.
Joining him is linebacker‑running back Eli Hutchinson, also from Aquinas, whose 762 total yards, five rushing touchdowns and 115 tackles showcase a rare blend of offensive firepower and defensive dominance.
In the secondary, Ranquavious Morris of Burke County has earned recognition for his 93 tackles, three interceptions and four tackles for loss, underscoring his elite coverage skills as a sophomore.
The list also reflects a geographic spread, with five different schools each contributing at least two athletes, a testament to the depth of talent across the region.
Among those standouts, T.K. Reeves of Burke County has logged 26 pancake blocks that help open lanes for his teammates, while Mykheal Smith of the same school has topped the rushing charts with over 1,200 yards and 15 touchdowns.
Carson Hand from Richmond Academy and Lo’than McBride from the same school have drawn attention for their Division‑I commitments and multiple college offers, adding further intrigue to the upcoming season.
Finally, Dextavion Reese of Hephzibah has cemented his recruiting profile with a verbal pledge to Rutgers, backing his 79 tackles, five pass break‑ups and four interceptions with a skill set that could translate to the next level.
