The Augusta University men’s basketball program has been recognized with the 2025‑26 National Association of Basketball Coaches Team Academic Excellence Award, an honor reserved for teams that post a collective grade point average of at least 3.0.
The accolade underscores the program’s dedication to balancing athletic competition with academic rigor, a standard that has become a hallmark of the university’s sports initiatives.
Among the standout scholars, graduate student Evan Joyner completed a Master’s degree in Public Administration, while Kyndon Wilburg earned a degree in Cybersecurity, both maintaining cumulative GPAs of 3.2 or higher throughout their collegiate careers.
Their achievements placed them on the NABC Honors Court, a selective list that celebrates junior, senior and graduate student‑athletes who excel academically across all divisions of college basketball.
The 2025‑26 Honors Court included more than 2,300 student‑athletes from programs nationwide, reflecting a growing emphasis on academic performance within the sport.
In addition, over 400 institutions earned Team Academic Excellence Awards, a testament to the widespread commitment to scholarship among college basketball programs.
