The 2026 Aurora Sentinel All-Aurora Girls Soccer Team assembles the most promising talent from across the city’s suburban programs, offering a vivid portrait of a season that was as challenging as it was rewarding. While many squads struggled to find the back of the net, a handful rose above the fray, setting the stage for memorable moments on and off the pitch.
A handful of programs rewrite the narrative
Only three area teams finished with winning records, and each of them earned a spot in the postseason. Cherokee Trail and Regis Jesuit secured places in the Class 5A tournament, while Aurora West College Prep Academy advanced to the Class 3A bracket, underscoring the competitive balance within the league.
Among those programs, Aurora West College Prep Academy stood out with the most impressive statistical output. The team posted a season‑high 13 victories and netted 81 goals, numbers that dwarfed those of their rivals and placed them at the top of the local leaderboards.
Yosseline Silva Monsivais, a forward from Aurora West College Prep Academy, tied for seventh place in the entire 3A classification with 27 goals, a testament to her consistency and finishing prowess. Her ability to convert chances at a high rate helped anchor the team’s attack throughout the campaign.
Makayla Sellyei of Cherokee Trail emerged as a offensive catalyst, setting a career‑high with 15 goals and earning the prestigious Centennial League Player of the Year award. Her blend of speed, vision and clinical finishing made her the most feared striker in the league.
Selah Davis, also from Cherokee Trail, delivered clutch performances when it mattered most. In two 5A state playoff games, she accounted for all three of her team’s goals, illustrating her composure under pressure and her knack for finding the net in critical moments.
Izzy Becker distinguished herself as a stalwart between the posts. She logged a city‑leading 1,238 minutes in goal and finished third locally with 121 saves, providing the defensive backbone that allowed her teammates to play with confidence.
Annabelle Turner of Regis Jesuit was the catalyst in the midfield, leading all Aurora area players with seven assists and five goals. Her playmaking ability created numerous scoring opportunities and helped elevate the team’s overall rhythm.
Lauren Nesbitt from Smoky Hill added a dramatic flair to the season, scoring seven goals and delivering game‑winning strikes in two of her team’s four victories. Her knack for striking at decisive moments added a thrilling narrative to the league’s story.
Sa’Mya Shazier of Gateway matched her sophomore totals with 12 goals and earned All‑Colorado League first‑team honors, reinforcing her status as one of the most consistent attackers across the classification.
Eaglecrest also made headlines with a dramatic defensive turnaround, allowing 30 fewer goals than the previous season. The improvement not only stabilized the backline but also freed up offensive resources, contributing to a more balanced and competitive squad.
