A native of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, Waggoner holds a Bachelor of Science in finance with a minor in economics from Penn State (2020) and a Master of Education (2022). He previously served as an assistant coach at Wilkes University, guiding the team to a 13‑12 overall record and an 8‑8 mark in the Landmark Conference.

Waggoner’s analytical background also includes two seasons as a video associate for the Minnesota Timberwolves, where he contributed to scouting and performance insights during the 2023‑24 and 2024‑25 campaigns.

He recently joined the Naval Academy staff, bringing a blend of operational expertise, academic grounding, and professional video analysis to the Midshipmen’s program.
