Austin Bode, a junior standout for the University of Indianapolis baseball team, has been selected to the 2026 Academic All‑America First Team, a testament to his dual excellence on the diamond and in the classroom.
A Season Defined by Records and Recognition
His season was marked by record‑breaking performances, as he rewrote the program’s single‑season marks for runs, runs batted in, walks and total bases, while also climbing into the top ten nationally in several Division II statistical categories.
The recognition follows a cascade of postseason honors, including selections to the All‑America Second Team and being named the Midwest Region Player of the Year, accolades that reflect both individual brilliance and team cohesion.
Bode and his teammates captured the NCAA Division II Midwest Region championship, earning a berth in the College World Series, where they will compete against the nation’s elite programs in pursuit of a historic title.
The achievement underscores the University of Indianapolis’ growing prominence in collegiate athletics, a narrative reinforced by the involvement of the College Sports Communicators, the American Baseball Coaches Association and the Great Lakes Valley Conference, all of which have highlighted the team’s remarkable season.
