Austin Parks and Recreation Teams with MLS GO for New Co‑Ed Youth Soccer Program

Registration opens Aug. 2 for children 4‑12, with reversible Austin FC jerseys, financial aid and a full winter season

The Austin Parks and Recreation Department announced a new co‑ed youth soccer initiative that will run through the winter months, inviting children between the ages of four and twelve to take part in a structured, community‑focused program.

Program Scope and Structure

The effort is being carried out in partnership with MLS GO, the youth development arm of Major League Soccer, and will be offered across four age brackets — U6, U8, U10 and U12 — with an additional U4 division available at three recreation centers for four‑year‑olds.

Each participant will receive a reversible Austin FC jersey, along with matching shorts, socks and shin guards, as part of the registration package.

Cost, Aid and Registration Windows

Residents of the City of Austin can enroll for $50, while non‑residents pay $70; a $10 surcharge applies for late sign‑ups after Dec. 26, with registration closing on Jan. 9. Financial assistance is offered to qualifying households, ensuring that cost does not become a barrier to participation.

Practices are slated to begin the week of Jan. 11, and the first games will kick off on Saturday, Jan. 30, providing a full season of competition and skill development.

How to Sign Up

Families can register online through the city’s Parksonline portal or in person at any Austin community recreation center, with detailed information and FAQs available at austintexas.gov/youthsports.
