A New Era for the Buckeyes' Interior Line
Austin Siereveld, the senior offensive lineman who earned All‑Big Ten Second Team honors last season at left tackle, is slated to start at right guard for Ohio State’s 2026 offensive line, a shift that will complete a three‑man interior unit.
The move comes after Siereveld’s extensive 2025 campaign, during which he logged seven starts at left guard and fourteen at left tackle, and after he originally preferred to remain inside the line but recognized the strategic advantage of pairing with Hinzman and Montgomery.
With Tegra Tshabola’s transfer to Kentucky opening a vacancy, junior Ian Moore and senior Joshua Padilla emerged as the primary contenders for the final starting spot, but Coach Ryan Day has indicated that Moore is likely to assume the left tackle role, clearing the path for Siereveld’s transition.
The trio of Siereveld, Hinzman and Montgomery brings more than five years of combined starting experience and an average stature of 6‑foot‑5 and 314 pounds, giving the Buckeyes a physically imposing and well‑coordinated interior line that Day says will be a significant asset.
Together, their seasoned teamwork and size are expected to fortify Ohio State’s offensive front, providing the stability needed to support the team’s offensive ambitions as they head into the upcoming season.
