Avalanche lock down Beckman with two‑year contract
Colorado’s management announced this week that the franchise has signed forward Adam Beckman to a two‑year agreement that will run through the 2027‑28 season. The move comes as the Avalanche look to bolster their forward depth ahead of a competitive stretch in the Western Conference.
Beckman arrives after a standout season with the Bridgeport Islanders of the AHL, where he topped the club with 30 goals and added 21 assists for a total of 51 points across 68 games. His 30 goals represent a professional career high and helped the Islanders secure a playoff berth.
Although his NHL résumé consists of just 23 regular‑season appearances with the Minnesota Wild, the 25‑year‑old has already tasted the league’s biggest stage. He made his debut on October 30, 2021 against the Avalanche and recorded his first point a week later with an assist versus the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Prior to turning professional, Beckman dominated the Western Hockey League as a member of the Spokane Chiefs, where he captured the Bob Clarke Trophy as the league’s top scorer in 2019‑20 and earned the Four Broncos Trophy as player of the year. He finished that season first in WHL goals and was named to the Western Conference First All‑Star Team.
The contract adds a proven scorer to a Colorado lineup that has been seeking additional offensive firepower. General manager praised Beckman’s work ethic and versatility, noting that his experience in both the AHL and NHL should translate into immediate contribution.
