Baboucarr Ann Commits to Wisconsin Badgers, Bolstering 2027 Recruiting Class

Four‑star guard joins Badgers alongside Jalen Brown and Jack Thelen, aiming to add depth and versatility

Baboucarr Ann, a four‑star guard from Maple Grove, Minnesota, announced his commitment to the University of Wisconsin on Tuesday, selecting the Badgers over a competitive list of suitors.

A Versatile Guard for the Badgers

The commitment elevates Wisconsin’s 2027 recruiting class, adding a player ranked No. 11 among point guards and No. 40 overall in the nation according to Rivals, and marks the fifth top‑50 recruit the program has secured in the Rivals era.

Ann will join fellow recruits Jalen Brown and Jack Thelen, his AAU and high‑school teammates, creating a core of backcourt talent that the Badgers hope will translate into immediate depth.

Prior to his decision, Ann considered offers from Iowa State, Arizona State, the University of Minnesota, West Virginia, Providence, Oklahoma State and Notre Dame, each of which pursued him aggressively throughout his junior season.

During his junior year he averaged 19 points, four rebounds, four assists and one steal per game, set the Maple Grove career scoring record, and was praised for his versatility as both a guard and a wing.

Badgers coaches envision Ann as a player who can stretch the floor, create his own shot and contribute defensively, giving the program a dynamic option off the bench as a freshman.
