Kyrah Daniels, a senior guard for the Wisconsin Badgers women's basketball team, is currently nursing a torn ligament in her right foot as she works toward a full return for the upcoming season.
The injury occurred during the opening half of the Badgers' loss to Columbia in the Women's Basketball Invitational semifinals in March, and although she stopped using a walking boot a few weeks ago, her on‑court activities remain limited.
A Determined Path Forward
After briefly exploring the transfer portal in April, Daniels ultimately chose to stay at Wisconsin, citing her confidence in the program's direction and her desire to finish her collegiate career with the team.
Coach Robin Pinegton praised Daniels' resilience, expressing gratitude for her decision to return and highlighting the impact she will have both on the hardwood and within the locker room.
Last season Daniels ranked second on the team in scoring (12.4 points per game), rebounding (5.1 per game), assists (2.6 per game) and steals (1.2 per game), while also shooting 34.5 percent from three‑point range and making 68 three‑pointers.
Her all‑around contributions helped the Badgers remain competitive in the Big Ten and positioned her as a key piece of the roster heading into the next campaign.
