The Badin High School baseball team captured its third Division III state championship on Saturday, defeating Columbus Bishop Watterson 7-2 at 7 17 Credit Union Park in Akron.
A season of dominance
The Rams finished the year with a 29-3 record and outscored opponents 55-1 throughout the postseason, a performance that included three straight appearances in the state Final Four and a total of 17 tournament trips.
Badin's previous titles came in 1991 and 1996, making this victory a historic milestone for the program and its long‑standing baseball tradition.
While the Division III final unfolded in Akron, the state championship weekend also featured a Division I showdown where St. Xavier edged Moeller 4-2, and a Division IV semifinal pitting Fenwick against Lancaster Fairfield Union, with the Division IV final slated for Sunday morning in the same city.
The Ohio High School Athletic Association oversaw the tournament, ensuring the championship games were played under its official rules and scheduling.
