Baltimore County Police Launch 13th Annual Cops and Kids Basketball Clinic
The Baltimore County Police Department is celebrating the 13th edition of its Cops and Kids Basketball Clinic, a summer staple that brings together youngsters from across the county for a week of drills, competition, and camaraderie.
Under the guidance of Officers Keith Boone and Keith Mallory, participants aged six to seventeen work on ball handling, shooting, defensive positioning and scenario‑based exercises designed to sharpen both athletic ability and teamwork.
For many attendees, such as Joshua Neguse, the clinic is more than a sports camp; it serves as a stepping stone toward high school tryouts and a source of positive role models who encourage personal growth on and off the court.
Beyond basketball, the initiative strives to bridge gaps between youth and law enforcement, fostering an environment where open dialogue can replace suspicion with mutual respect.
