Ba’Roc Willis Commits to Colorado Buffaloes, Flipping from Alabama

The three-star edge prospect chooses the Buffaloes over the Crimson Tide after an official visit, reshaping the 2027 recruiting class.

A surprise commitment

Ba'Roc Willis, a three-star edge rusher from Moody, Alabama, revealed his decision to join the Colorado Buffaloes during an official visit, marking a decisive turn in his recruitment journey.

Willis had been a verbal commit to the Alabama Crimson Tide before reopening his recruitment in January 2025, a move that kept college coaches on edge until his final choice.

The Buffaloes extended a scholarship to Willis in September, and the visit gave the coaching staff a chance to showcase their vision, ultimately sealing the agreement.

Stats and rankings

Ranked No. 518 overall and No. 49 among edge players by Rivals, Willis also holds the No. 21 spot among Alabama prospects, underscoring the significance of his addition to the Buffaloes' defensive lineup.

His junior season produced 125 tackles, 23 tackles for loss, nine sacks, 26 quarterback hurries and two forced fumbles, while over the previous two years he amassed 174 tackles, 40.5 tackles for loss, 26 sacks, 58 hurries and five forced fumbles.

What this means for Colorado

The commitment makes Willis the third defensive player in Colorado's 2027 class, joining cornerback Davon Dericho and defensive lineman Kenny Fairley, while the only offensive pledge remains quarterback Andre Adams.

Colorado's 2027 recruiting class now sits at No. 45 nationally and No. 6 in the Big 12 according to Rivals, a positioning that reflects the program's upward trajectory under head coach Deion Sanders.
