Barren County’s soccer community is set to receive a major boost as the Fiscal Court announced a $250,000 grant from the federal Land and Water Conservation Fund.
The money will be directed toward expanding the parking facilities and installing modern lighting at the Barren County Soccer Complex, a venue that serves teams from Glasgow and other local schools.

The improvement project is scheduled to run from August 30, 2026, through July 7, 2029, giving the county a three‑year window to complete the upgrades before the next fiscal cycle.
County officials say the enhancements will not only streamline traffic flow for families attending matches, but also create a safer environment for young athletes by reducing congestion and improving visibility on the field.
