Every summer the Barth brothers transform a simple idea into a community event that draws young athletes from across the region. This year, they are opening the doors of Hoggard High School in Wilmington for their annual free youth football kicking camp, a program that welcomes participants of all ages and skill levels.
A tradition rooted in giving back
Connor Barth, who spent a decade as an NFL kicker, has shifted his focus from the gridiron to entrepreneurship. He recently invested in Blue Shark Vodka and is expanding into real estate development, using the resources he built on the field to support new ventures.
Casey Barth, an All‑Area kicker at Hoggard and the school’s all‑time career field‑goal record holder, transitioned into real estate and pharmaceutical outsourcing after his playing days. He remains deeply connected to the sport, often returning to mentor the next generation of kickers.
The camp provides free instruction, T‑shirts for participants and a chance for young players to learn from two athletes who credit the community that supported their careers. Connor’s induction into the Greater Wilmington Sports Hall of Fame in 2024 underscores the local impact of their work.
