Bay High School 1976 Football Team Launches Scholarship Endowment

Alumni partner with Bay Education Foundation to fund annual $5,000 scholarships for graduating seniors

A Legacy Reimagined

Members of Bay High School’s 1976 state championship football team have launched a fundraising drive to establish a scholarship endowment that will provide a $5,000 award to a graduating senior each year for the next ten years.

The initiative, carried out in partnership with the Bay Education Foundation, aims to raise $50,000 to fund the recurring scholarships. Every contribution, regardless of size, brings the goal closer, reflecting the community’s willingness to give back to the institution that helped shape these athletes.

Norm Allen III, a key figure on the 1976 squad, emphasized the team’s commitment to perseverance and dedication, stating that the scholarship will recognize students who embody those same qualities on and off the field.

Beyond the financial target, the effort serves as a tribute to the coaches and leaders who guided the team both in competition and in life, ensuring that the values they instilled continue to benefit future generations of Bay High students.
