Bay Port’s football program has been defined by Steven Jorgensen’s rapid rise since he took the helm two seasons ago, guiding the team to a gold and a silver ball and setting its sights on a Division 1 state title game.
A culture of competition
The upcoming season will require the Eagles to fill two pivotal roles: quarterback and running back. Last year’s starter, Matt Stevens, completed 69 percent of his passes for 2,116 yards and 23 touchdowns, while running back Brady Moon rushed for 2,198 yards and 31 scores.
Both positions are now up for grabs, with juniors Bray Babich and Braydon Maney battling for the quarterback slot, while the backfield will see new faces stepping into the spotlight.
Coach Jorgensen points to a wealth of playmakers who can shoulder the load, highlighting Jackson Otradovec, Ryder Timmerman and Jackson Smith as key contributors who will help maintain the program’s high standards.
