Baylor University’s baseball program has announced the addition of right‑hander Beau Elson, a junior transfer from Fordham, as the fifth new pitcher to join the squad this offseason.
Elson’s freshman year at Fordham was marked by 13 starts, a 5.38 earned‑run average and 60 strikeouts over 68.1 innings, yielding a 6‑4 record and a 1.45 WHIP.
A Promising Addition to the Rotation
In his true freshman season he also appeared in 22 games, posting a 6.44 ERA and a 1.53 WHIP, while opponents batted just .253 against him.
The Bears will also welcome back injured pitchers Zack Wallace and Mason Green, while senior right‑hander Lucas Davenport is set to depart for the MLB Draft, where he was selected in the fifth round by the Boston Red Sox.
Elson’s arrival adds depth to a rotation that already includes transfers Tate DeRias (Miami), Davis Webb (Bradley), Brayden Gilley (Winthrop) and Keller Eberly (Texas State), creating a competitive mix heading into the new campaign.
A native of Hadley, Massachusetts, Elson will retain three years of NCAA eligibility and is expected to contribute immediately to the team’s pitching staff.
