Baylor University’s baseball program capped a standout season with a sweep of conference honors, highlighting a wave of individual achievements.
Armstrong’s breakout season
Tyce Armstrong, a redshirt senior first baseman for Baylor, was named the 2026 Big 12 Newcomer of the Year and earned a spot on the All‑Big 12 First Team.
His power surge rewrote the Bears’ record books, as he hit 24 home runs — the most ever in a single season for a Baylor player — while batting .338 and slugging .770, adding 64 RBIs to his stat line.
The recognition spread to teammates, with Travis Sanders and Caleb Bunch both selected to the All‑Big 12 Second Team.
Sanders contributed 80 hits, posted a .376 average and stole 24 bases, while Bunch posted a 3.26 ERA and recorded seven saves.
Freshman Brady Janusek earned a spot on the All‑Freshman Team after breaking the rookie home‑run record with 13, and Lucas Davenport received an honorable‑mention nod after going 5‑2 with a 5.61 ERA across 12 starts.
These honors underscore the program’s depth and the Big 12’s competitive landscape, reflecting the continued growth of Baylor’s baseball tradition.
