Fall Camp Kickoff: Baylor’s Offensive Line Overhaul
Baylor’s fall camp opened this week, marking the first chance for the coaching staff to assess a roster that finished last season with just five wins. Head coach Dave Aranda has already made a notable change at quarterback, swapping out Sawyer Robertson for the more mobile DJ Lagway, a move made possible through the transfer portal.
The biggest question marks remain on the offensive line, where the Bears lost several key pieces and now face uncertainty at both center and right tackle. Yakiri Walker, who was expected to compete for a starting spot, saw his temporary injunction denied, effectively removing him from camp and forcing the staff to look elsewhere.
Kaden Sieracki is the only confirmed starter returning at right tackle, but his placement could shift if he moves inside to guard. Redshirt freshman Harrison Cluff is being evaluated for a potential center role, while transfers such as Cole Rhett from Toledo are emerging as strong candidates for the left tackle position.
Competition is also fierce at the interior spots, with Nate Kibble and Asher Hale, both transfers who excelled at other programs, battling for guard positions. Additional candidates like Logan Moore and Lawson Petty are also in the mix as the staff attempts to settle on the five best linemen to anchor the offense.
