Baylor University’s women’s soccer program has reached a historic high, climbing to No. 6 in the preseason IWSOC/United Soccer Coaches poll, the highest ranking ever recorded for the Bears.
A Milestone Ranking
The achievement comes on the heels of a 2‑0 start to the season, during which the Bears defeated two Power Conference opponents — No. 10 Arkansas and Texas A&M — showcasing both offensive firepower and defensive dominance.
Against Arkansas, goals from Lauren Omholt, Callie Conrad, Olivia Hess and Noelle Sather helped secure a 2‑0 victory, while a 2‑0 win over Texas A&M featured scores by Conrad and Grace White. In both matches Baylor outshot their rivals 15‑7 and 19‑7 respectively, with shots on goal reaching 10‑3 and 7‑2 in their favor.
The 2025 campaign builds on a 14‑5‑4 record from the previous season that included a run to the NCAA Round of 16, a milestone that set the stage for the current surge.
Baylor’s ascent follows a peak of No. 10 during Big 12 play last year, and the back-to-back wins over Power Conference foes mark the first such stretch since 2019, underscoring the program’s rapid progress.
Looking Ahead
The Bears are set to host Texas State on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at Betty Lou Mays Field. Admission will be free, and the match will be streamed live on ESPN+, giving fans another chance to see the team’s momentum in action.
With the early season buzz and a roster featuring standouts such as Callie Conrad, Lauren Omholt, Olivia Hess, Noelle Sather and Grace White, Baylor aims to translate its preseason promise into a deep postseason run.
