Rising Talent on the International Stage
The 4 Nations Tournament, held in the historic town of Lilleshall, England, brings together the under‑21 squads of Belgium, England, India and the United States in a compact week‑long competition from July 8 to July 15.
For Duke University alumni Madison Beach and Shae Wozniak, the event marks a continuation of a promising international career. Both players were instrumental in the United States’ silver‑medal run at the 2026 Junior Pan American Cup in Santiago, Chile, where Beach netted two goals and Wozniak contributed one.
In their first match of the tournament, the U.S. side fell 6‑0 to India, a result that underscores the competitive depth of the field but also highlights the learning curve for a young roster.
With four matches still to play, the coaching staff is focused on refining strategies and building chemistry against upcoming opponents Belgium and England.
USA Field Hockey, the sport’s national governing body, continues to support the development pathway that has produced players like Beach and Wozniak, reinforcing its commitment to sustained success on the world stage.
As the tournament progresses, the duo’s experience and scoring instincts will be closely watched by fans and selectors alike, with the potential to shape the next generation of U.S. talent.
