USC Men’s Basketball has added a new piece to its frontcourt as Belgian center Onyeka Joe Agu officially joined the program this week, becoming the third international player on the roster under Head Coach Eric Musselman.
A Boost for the Frontcourt
Agu, who measures 6‑foot‑10, spent the most recent season with Brussels Basketball in the BNXT League, where he averaged 7.3 points and 5.7 rebounds per game and was named the league’s Young Player of the Month in November after posting 10.3 points on 66.6% shooting, 6.0 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game.
Coach Musselman described the newcomer as a player who brings physicality, athleticism and competitiveness to the Trojans’ interior, highlighting his ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor.
The Trojans enter the upcoming campaign with a blend of returners and transfers, featuring the No. 5 recruiting class according to ESPN and aiming to improve on a 18‑14 record from the previous season.
Agu will be eligible immediately and is expected to contribute rebounding, defensive presence and a scoring punch that complements the existing talent, adding depth and experience to the frontcourt.
With a record number of international players on the squad, the team hopes the diverse experience will translate into a more dynamic style of play as they chase a deeper run in the conference.
