Bella Boyle, a 16‑year‑old junior from Drums, Pennsylvania, has taken the field hockey world by storm this season, delivering a pair of performances that showcased her scoring prowess and cemented her status as one of the most exciting young athletes in the region.
A Milestone Week for Bella Boyle
During her opening match against Nanticoke Area, Boyle exploded for 14 goals, including a school‑record nine in the first game alone, a feat that not only highlighted her finishing ability but also set a new benchmark for her program.
A week later, she faced Whitehall and contributed five more goals, the final strike of which pushed her career total to 100, making her the first Hazleton Area field hockey player to reach that milestone.
Immediately after the games, Boyle announced a verbal commitment to Holy Cross, where she intends to pursue a degree in economics or finance while continuing her athletic career.
She attributes much of her success to the supportive environment around her, citing teammates, the club coaches at Electric Surge, and her teachers as key pillars that have helped her balance academics with her demanding schedule.
Her immediate team goal is to capture the district championship, while personally she aims to sharpen her field hockey skills and broaden her repertoire on the pitch.
Off the field, Boyle enjoys softball, spends time reading and writing, works out at the gym, and lists math as her favorite subject, while also reveling in her love for steak and dreaming of a vacation in Italy.
With a clear vision for her future and a passion that burns brightly on the field, she looks forward to bringing her drive and enthusiasm to Holy Cross in the coming years.
