Beloved Coach Scott Beach Remembered After Tragic Passing

A tribute to the longtime Allen East girls' soccer mentor and community pillar

Scott Beach, the longtime coach of Allen East High School’s girls’ soccer team, died on July 31, 2026, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima, Ohio, at the age of 58.

Born on October 15, 1967, in Lima to David and Nancy (Groves) Beach, he grew up in a close‑knit family and later graduated from Shawnee High School before attending The Ohio State University.

Beach began his coaching career in 2005, serving stints in the Ada and Shawnee school districts and with the A.C. Elite Soccer Club, before taking the helm of the girls’ soccer program at Allen East High School, where he mentored countless young athletes.

He married Jeanne M. (Nadeau) Beach on September 3, 1994, at St. John’s Catholic Church, and the couple raised three sons together while remaining active in their community.

Funeral Arrangements

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on August 5, 2026, at 11:00 am at St. John’s Catholic Church, officiated by Fr. Dan Borgelt, followed by a private burial of his cremated remains at Gethsemani Cemetery at a later date.

Friends may visit on August 4, 2026, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Chiles‑Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Shawnee Chapel, to pay their respects.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanne; his three sons; his parents; siblings; and a wide network of nieces, nephews, and friends, while he was preceded in death by his daughter Marie and both sets of grandparents.
