The victory, sealed by Piper Abrams’ decisive goal set up by Tatyana Fobi, marked the fourth title in the school’s history and sparked a wave of optimism for the coming campaign.
This year the team must replace six seniors, among them first‑team all‑state forward Meredith King, but the roster still boasts a core of 12 players who were part of the 2025 championship squad, including state Player of the Year Tatyana Fobi. Returning standouts such as goalkeeper Brooklyn Mettler, defender Tatyana Fobi and forward Shea Manfredi, all earned first‑team all‑state honors in 2025, giving the Bears a blend of experience and talent as they look to prove their consistency.
Training and Preparation
Training began in May with optional daily cardio plans, a regimen that culminated in an August readiness test before the season opener. The Bears will open on September 3 at West Albany, then host their first home and conference games on September 8 and 15 respectively, before navigating a schedule packed with top Intermountain Conference rivals and the state playoffs.
Head coach emphasized that the team’s focus is on sustained effort rather than resting on past glory, acknowledging the pressure of defending a title while facing new challenges. As Tatyana Fobi, who transferred from Washington before the 2024 season, described the 2025 campaign as the “funnest” of her career, the players appear eager to translate that enthusiasm into another deep run.
