A family connection resurfaces in Cincinnati
The Cincinnati Bengals announced on July 25 that rookie tight end Josh Kattus had been placed on the active/non-football injury list, a move that follows his signing as an undrafted free agent earlier in the offseason.
Kattus comes to the club after a four‑year stint at Kentucky where he amassed 505 receiving yards on 38 catches and scored six touchdowns, having been a standout at Moeller High School before college.
His father, Eric Kattus, spent six seasons with the Bengals from 1986 to 1991, recording 698 receiving yards on 66 receptions and five touchdowns, and he was part of the team’s 41‑14 playoff victory over Houston on January 6, 1991.

Josh’s older brother Justin also played at St. Xavier before following his sibling to the University of Kentucky, while the youngest, Tucker, a offensive lineman, completed his college career at Clemson.
