The Jacksonville Icemen have secured forward Bennett MacArthur for the upcoming 2026‑27 season, reinforcing a roster that looks to build on recent momentum.
A productive season cut short by injury
During the shortened 2023‑24 campaign, MacArthur appeared in 42 games and posted 36 points, comprising 13 goals and 23 assists. Despite a lingering injury that limited his minutes, the output represented his most productive statistical season in the ECHL to date.
MacArthur’s professional trajectory includes stints with the Wheeling Nailers, Orlando Solar Bears and Syracuse Crunch in the AHL, as well as a formative period with the Acadie‑Bathurst Titan of the QMJHL, where he tallied 129 points in 120 games between 2020 and 2022.
From the Maritimes to the professional ranks
Born in Summerside, Prince Edward Island, the forward entered the ECHL after a series of moves that began with the Buffalo Sabers, who acquired his rights from the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2025 before passing them to the Icemen.
His early development in Canada laid the groundwork for a trans‑Atlantic career that now spans five seasons in the ECHL, positioning him as a veteran presence for Jacksonville.
