The Berks Catholic Saints clinched their first Lancaster‑Lebanon League Section 5 title since the 2022 merger, finishing a season that also saw them reach the District 3 championship game for the first time since 2019. Although they fell 17‑0 to Trinity in that final, the team’s defensive mastery and high‑octane offense left a strong impression.
Coach Dave Stahler praised the squad’s ability to limit opponents to just eight points per game during victories, while the offense consistently topped 300 yards per contest. ‘Our defense set the tone, but the offense showed we can move the ball when it matters,’ Stahler said.
Key contributors include sophomore running back Coy Koller, who amassed 609 rushing yards and seven touchdowns last year, and senior defensive end Faith Zudie, who led the team with 90 tackles. Both players are expected to anchor the roster as the Saints aim to replicate last season’s success.
The departure of standouts Xavier Gerald and Jeremiah Camara creates gaps, but the coaching staff emphasizes player development and humility as the path forward. ‘We’ll build on what we’ve done, focusing on growth and staying grounded,’ Stahler added.
