Bethune‑Cookman Baseball Honored with National Academic Excellence Award
Bethune‑Cookman University’s baseball program has been named a recipient of the 2025‑26 Team Academic Excellence Award by the American Baseball Coaches Association, an honor that celebrates programs maintaining a cumulative team GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
During the 2025‑26 academic year the Wildcats posted a 3.41 term GPA and a 3.41 cumulative GPA, comfortably exceeding the benchmark that qualifies for the award.
The team’s academic distinction is reflected in the performance of its student‑athletes, with 31 of the 36 players earning academic honors, including nine who achieved a perfect 4.00 term GPA and 19 who recorded a term GPA of 3.50 or higher.
Academic Honors and Graduations
Among the honored athletes, 14 earned President’s List recognition, six were selected to the Dean’s List, two received Honor Roll status and nine garnered Honorable Mention acknowledgment.
The achievement also coincided with graduation ceremonies on May 5, where six student‑athletes received their degrees, including two Summa Cum Laude, three Magna Cum Laude and one Cum Laude honoree.

Bethune‑Cookman joins nearly 500 college baseball programs across the United States that were recognized for the 2025‑26 academic year, underscoring a broader trend of institutions prioritizing academic excellence alongside athletic competition.
