The BIG EAST field hockey conference has unveiled its 2026 NFHCA Division I Watchlist, naming 19 student‑athletes who are being considered for the upcoming season’s top honors.
These selections represent nine percent of the 212 athletes named nationally, placing the league fifth among conferences in overall representation.
A distributed talent pool
Liberty University leads the list with six athletes, while both UConn and Villanova contribute four each. Providence and Old Dominion each add two, and Temple rounds out the group with a single honoree.
The roster blends established stars with emerging prospects, reflecting the conference’s reputation for developing players who can contend for All‑Region and All‑American accolades.
The BIG EAST’s legacy of national success adds context to the announcement. The conference captured its most recent championship in 2017 when UConn won the NCAA title, and Jill Bolton of Liberty was crowned NFHCA National Player of the Year in 2021.
While inclusion on the Watchlist is a notable achievement, conference officials stress that the honor does not guarantee postseason advancement, underscoring the competitive nature of the sport.
