Bill Carr, a veteran basketball strategist, has been named Deputy Athletic Director for Basketball at the University of California, San Diego. A Coach With a Proven Track Record
Carr’s coaching journey includes an eight‑year stint as head coach of the women’s team at Santa Clara University, where he amassed 119 victories and mentored fifteen all‑league honorees. His most recent experience before returning to San Diego was a senior management position at Point Loma Nazarene and the University of San Diego, culminating in his appointment as the first general manager of the Triton program in 2024.
A Strategic Move to the West Coast Conference
UC San Diego is set to transition from the Big West to the West Coast Conference next summer.
