A veteran presence returns to USC baseball
USC announced that Bill Mosiello will join the program as an assistant coach, taking on responsibilities that include overseeing the hitting approach and working directly with the catchers.
Mosiello brings three and a half decades of experience that spans both college diamonds and professional leagues, having led Ohio State as head coach and served as associate head coach at Texas Christian University, where the team earned four straight College World Series berths.
A career built on experience
His professional résumé includes stints with the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Angels, where he helped shape the development of stars such as Mike Trout, and a managerial record of 383‑294 in the minor leagues that earned him Manager of the Year honors twice in the Alaska Summer League and once in the Cape Cod Baseball League.
Beyond the dugout, Mosiello played collegiate baseball at Fresno State and Cerritos College, collecting the Scholar‑Athlete Award and the Most Inspirational Player honor, experiences that continue to inform his coaching philosophy.
National perspective
He also represented baseball at the national level with USA Baseball, contributing to the sport’s development on an international stage, and his career reflects a blend of strategic insight and player‑focused growth.
