A Reunion on the Diamond
Binghamton University will host its annual Alumni Day on Saturday, September 19, at the Bearcats Stadium Complex, inviting former players and their families back to the field where they once chased victories. The evening will blend nostalgia with celebration, as the stadium and clubhouse open their doors at 6 p.m. to a crowd eager to reconnect.
Guests can look forward to a spread of free snacks and drinks, while the crack of bats will echo across the diamond when batting practice begins at 7 p.m. Golf enthusiasts who wish to take part must reach out to Mike Folli by September 12 to secure their spot on the course.
The Bearcats’ recent on‑field achievements have turned this gathering into more than a simple reunion. The program posted a school‑record 31 wins, highlighted by an 11‑game conference winning streak that culminated in both the regular‑season and tournament titles — a historic America East “double.” The team also secured its second straight NCAA Regional appearance, falling just short of the College World Series after hard‑fought losses to West Virginia and Wake Forest.
Coach Tim Sinicki, now in his 35th year at the helm, called the alumni event one of his favorite moments of the season. “Seeing former players back on the field, sharing stories and laughter, reminds me why I fell in love with this program,” he said. The honor of being named America East Coach of the Year for the seventh time reflects not only his strategic acumen but also the deep community ties he has cultivated.
