The North Dakota State baseball team closed out their season in dramatic fashion, posting a 10‑6 win over St. Thomas at Koch Diamond.
A late‑inning rally fuels the Bison's surge
Early in the game, Tyman Long sparked the offense with an RBI double in the fourth inning, giving the Bison a 3‑0 lead. The momentum continued as Chase Womack added an RBI single in the fifth, and Kyle Law stretched the advantage to 8‑0 with a two‑run double in the seventh.
The Tommies answered with a four‑run burst in the seventh, cutting the deficit to 9‑4, but the Bison were not finished. Tommy Simon delivered an RBI double in the eighth, pushing the lead to 10‑4 before the final outs.
Pitching prowess secures the victory
Starter Jonah Walker delivered a solid six‑inning outing, striking out six batters while allowing just three hits and two walks. Reliever Cade Wiegert contributed a strikeout over two innings, and Hudson Hart closed the game with a strikeout to earn his second save of the season.
The combined effort of the offense and the bullpen sealed a decisive win, leaving the Bison with a memorable finish as they head into the offseason.
