Bison Ready for 2026 Kickoff
North Dakota State University’s soccer team opens the 2026 season on August 13, welcoming Green Bay to Dacotah Field for a 6 p.m. showdown. The Bison will play in front of a home crowd that has grown accustomed to free admission and convenient parking in designated lots after the usual hours.
Both matches will be televised on WDAY Xtra across North Dakota and parts of Minnesota, giving fans another way to follow the action from home.
Players to Watch
Among the returning upperclassmen, Amaya Garrett and Morgan Russmann have been highlighted as Summit League Players to Watch for the upcoming campaign. Garrett, who has started every game since joining the Bison, boasts 54 career starts, while Russmann, also a constant starter, has logged 39 starts. Their presence adds experience and depth to a squad that finished the previous season with a 3‑1 victory over Green Bay, a game in which Russmann contributed two of the three goals and Hannah Arnold netted the final strike.
The Bison hold a 7‑2‑1 edge over Green Bay in the all‑time series and a 3‑1 record at home, underscoring the advantage they enjoy on their own turf.
A Historic Home Schedule
This year marks a milestone, with NDSU scheduling 12 home contests — the most in program history — and maintaining an all‑time home record of 60‑35‑11 at Dacotah Field. The next test arrives on August 16, when Marquette visits for a 1 p.m. matchup that promises another lively atmosphere.
