Blackhawks Ink Boucher and Mylymok to One-Year, Two-Way Deals

Depth adds for the AHL affiliate as roster reshapes ahead of new season

The Chicago Blackhawks announced Tuesday that they have signed forward Dillon Boucher and Connor Mylymok to one-year, two-way contracts, a move designed to add depth at the AHL level as the club looks to rebound from a disappointing season.

Boucher, 29, arrives after a season split between the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League and the Wichita Thunder of the ECHL, where he contributed eight points in 53 games for Rockford and logged 35 points over 151 career ECHL appearances with Wichita.

Mylymok, 26, brings a different skill set, having posted 10 points in 52 AHL games for Rockford while also serving as a regular on the Idaho Steelheads and Rapid City Rush in the ECHL, where he ranked third league-wide with 204 penalty minutes.

Both players have previously tasted AHL action with the IceHogs, giving the Blackhawks a familiar option should injuries or performance issues arise during the grind of an 82-game schedule.

Strategic Implications

General manager Kyle Davidson emphasized that the signings reflect the organization’s commitment to developing talent from within the system while maintaining flexibility under the salary cap.

The contracts, which carry modest cap hits, provide the team with a safety net as they evaluate younger prospects in training camp, and they could prove pivotal if the Blackhawks need to shore up depth during the playoffs.
