Blair Estarfaa has recently been appointed as an assistant coach for Furman University’s women’s basketball program, adding a wealth of experience to the staff.
A Proven Track Record
During his tenure at Campbell University, Estarfaa helped the team finish second in the Coastal Athletic Association and post a 20‑15 record, showcasing his ability to contribute to winning cultures.
Pierre Curtis, Furman’s head coach, highlighted Estarfaa’s championship pedigree and the fresh perspective he brings, stating that his winning attitude will be a major factor in the program’s growth.
Estarfaa’s coaching journey includes stints at several institutions, from a two‑year head coaching role at Buffalo State University to a video coordination and player personnel position at Syracuse University, and a key assistant role at the University of Buffalo where the Bulls captured the 2022 MAC title and earned an NCAA Tournament berth.
From Player to Coach
Before entering the coaching ranks, Estarfaa distinguished himself as a standout player at SUNY Cortland, earning all‑conference and all‑region honors and contributing to two conference championship teams before graduating in 2016.
His early coaching foundations were laid as a men’s assistant at Alfred University in 2016, a role that set the stage for his progressive rise through various program levels.
