Blake Roskopf, a 6‑foot‑5, 235‑pound quarterback from Desert Edge High School in Goodyear, Arizona, announced his commitment to the Washington Huskies on Tuesday, choosing the Pac‑12 program over a daunting list of 29 other suitors that included Mississippi State, North Carolina and UCLA.
Rivals ranks the prospect as the No. 101 overall player in the 2027 class and the eighth‑best quarterback nationally, a rating that reflects not only his size but also a strong arm and a quick release that scouting analyst Charles Power highlighted in a recent report.
During his junior season he completed more than 66 percent of his passes for 2,815 yards, 37 touchdowns and only eight interceptions, numbers that helped him eclipse the expectations of many recruiting analysts.
The decision marks a significant coup for head coach Jedd Fisch, who now secures a cornerstone piece for a Huskies offense that has been rebuilding after a transitional period, and it also places the program ahead of rivals in the race for the state’s top talent.
Roskopf will join a 2027 class that already boasts standout talents such as wide receiver Braylon Pope, safety Jaden Walk‑Green, running back Jeremy Adeyanju, receiver Tre Moore and defensive tackle Tevita Nonu, giving Washington a depth of skill positions that could reshape its future rankings.
The class also includes Zerek Sidney, and with six prospects in the Rivals300, the Huskies’ recruiting class climbs to a level that could rival traditional powerhouses, and the addition of Roskopf is expected to bolster the team’s offensive scheme as the program looks to return to national prominence.
