The newest USA TODAY Network Indiana high school football poll has turned heads by reshuffling the top spots across the state’s classifications.
In Class 5A, Bloomington South has seized the No. 1 ranking from New Palestine after the latter fell to East Central in a recent matchup.
Bloomington South gathered 131 first‑place votes, just enough to push New Palestine down to second despite the latter’s 1-1 record and six prior first‑place nods.
Class 4A Realignment
Class 4A also experienced a clear shift, as East Central climbed to the summit by outranking both Bishop Chatard and Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger.
East Central secured 134 first‑place votes, eclipsing Bishop Chatard’s 121 and Bishop Dwenger’s 117, cementing its position as the class’s new leader.
The poll’s methodology, which blends overall records with the volume of first‑place votes, explains the rapid movement of teams and highlights the competitive balance across Indiana’s high school football landscape.
