Bonac Baseball Seniors Cap Off Remarkable Season Despite Playoff Heartbreak

A look at the team's late surge, key players heading to college, and the legacy of a historic run

A Season of Ups and Downs

The Bonac baseball team saw its season culminate with a 2-0 defeat to Westhampton Beach on May 12, a loss that initially threatened to extinguish any postseason hopes.

Yet the team refused to surrender. In the following days the Bonackers reeled off two straight victories, the second a 9-4 win on May 15 that not only secured a split of the series but also eliminated Westhampton Beach from the playoffs.

Turning the Tide

The surge was more than a statistical footnote; it was a statement. The seniors, who had been the backbone of the squad, led the charge, and their performances underscored a campaign that had already delivered six straight wins and eight victories in the final nine games.

Coach Vinny Alversa took the opportunity to highlight the seniors’ impact, noting that four of them — Trevor Meehan, Victoreddy Aguero, Mason Miles and Finn O’Rourke — will continue their careers at the collegiate level.

Meehan, who delivered the final home start on the mound, will head to the University of Bridgeport; Aguero, an outfielder, is bound for Felician University; Miles will suit up at Bucknell University; and O’Rourke is headed to Saint Peter’s University.

Looking Forward

Beyond the seniors, underclassmen such as Livs Kuplins expressed confidence that the experience gained during the late‑season run will fuel next year’s squad.

The combination of seasoned leadership and emerging talent suggests that the Bonac program is poised to remain competitive, even as it transitions to a new roster.
